Total NK cells expressing activating receptors, particularly NKG2C and NKp44, were increased in the peripheral blood of STS patients (16%, IQR: 10–23, N = 10; 9%, IQR: 4–13, N = 6; respectively) compared with CTRL (5%, IQR: 4–10, N = 21, p = 0.003; 1%, IQR: 1–2, N = 21, p = 0.0003; respectively). This evidence concerns the gene KLRC2 and telomere syndrome.
