Interestingly, various solid tumors, including breast, lung, and pancreatic cancers, ectopically express neuropeptides such as Neuropeptide Y (NPY), Substance P (SP), and Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide (VIP), mediating communication between neurons, immune cells, and cancer cells [8,9,10]. The gene discussed is NPY; the disease is familial pancreatic carcinoma.
