Soluble CD163 (sCD163) is a macrophage activation marker, and its level is associated with liver fibrosis/cirrhosis in patients with chronic viral hepatitis (hepatitis B virus and HCV) [26], MASLD and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) [27,28], alcoholic liver disease [29], and autoimmune hepatitis [30]. Here, CD163 is linked to alcoholic liver diseases.
