The effect of miR-193a on p27 has solely been studied by Uhlmann et al. His group investigated the impact of different miRNAs, including miR-193a, in the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-driven cell cycle pathway and showed that miR-193a upregulates p27 expression in breast cancer cells [78]. This evidence concerns the gene CDKN1B and breast carcinoma.
