SIGIRR and Sepsis: In a mouse model of E. coli pneumonia, 15-epi-LXA4-ALX/FPR2 interaction selectively upregulated the NF-κB negative regulators A20 and SIGIRR, thereby decreasing NF-κB activity, which may inhibit pulmonary neutrophil infiltration while increasing bacterial clearance and improving sepsis survival (Sham et al., 2018).
