Cancer-related macroH2A1.1 isoform variability is recapitulated in NCI60 breast cancer cells, which display up to six-fold changes in macroH2A1.1 protein levels, while expression of the more abundant macroH2A1.2 isoform is largely unchanged (Fig. 7a)24.
