In alkbh5−/− cells, DDX54 still bound to m6A RNAs under virus infection (Fig. 6B), and in ddx54−/− cells, a constant binding was also seen for ALKBH5 regardless of virus infection (Fig. 6C), indicating that in response to VSV infection, DDX54 recognizes and binds to the m6A RNAs independently of ALKBH5, and vice versa. This evidence concerns the gene ALKBH5 and viral infectious disease.
