While we did not observe any significant changes in the level of any of these enzymes between primary and metastatic tumors, we did find that high levels of several enzymes, including mevalonate kinase (MVK), phosphomevalonate kinase (PMVK), isopentenyl-diphosphate delta isomerase 2 (IDI2), farnesyl diphosphate synthase (FDPS), and farnesyl-diphosphate farnesyltransferase 1 (FDFT1), were correlated with decreased rates of survival (p < 0.05) (Fig. 5H). Here, IDI2 is linked to metastatic neoplasm.
