A meta‐analysis of 37 studies and 78,714 patients with vitiligo found prevalences with a pooled odds ratio (OR) of 3.93 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 2.23–6.93) for thyroid diseases, 5.88 (95% CI: 2.68–12.89) for autoimmune thyroid diseases, 3.38 (95% CI: 2.97–4.96) for anti‐thyroid peroxidase (TPO) antibodies and 3.51 (95% CI: 2.35–5.26) for anti‐thyroglobulin (TG) antibodies.35 This evidence concerns the gene TPO and vitiligo.
