When simulated in terrestrial settings, microgravity has been shown to consistently alter cells in CNS tumors, especially glioblastoma multiforme, through disrupting cytoskeletal architecture, inhibiting proliferation, inducing DNA damage and cellular apoptosis, rewiring survival pathways (ERK/AKT, Hippo, and GSK3β), and increasing chemosensitivity to cisplatin. Here, GSK3B is linked to central nervous system neoplasm.
