IL2 and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: This inflammatory cytokine regulates the long‐lasting activation of T‐cell responses,29 and is functionally linked to IL‐2,30 whose upregulation could represent a strategy to achieve neuroprotection, as treatments with this protein, alongside brain‐derived neurotrophic factor (also increased by tofersen), are being tested in ALS clinical trials.31, 32
