Although histamine‐driven pruritus doesn't seem to substantially contribute to chronic itch in AD [49], mast cell‐directed therapies have been particularly interesting, including lirentelimab (anti‐Siglec‐8) and kit‐inhibitors in patients with chronic urticaria or allergic conjunctivitis [50, 51]; reducing this CD125+ sub‐population of mast cells provides an alternate mechanism of action compared to these other therapies under clinical development to target mast cells. Here, SIGLEC8 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
