MCAM, also known as MUC18 or CD146, was firstly observed in malignant melanoma, which had been extensively involved in numerous oncogenic signalling pathways, including VEGF/VEGFR [78], PI3K/AKT [79] and NF‐κB [80], and played as an important driver of progression and metastasis in various cancers, including BRCA [81], lung cancers [82] and melanoma [83]. The gene discussed is NFKB1; the disease is lung cancer.
