The thrombosis cohort exhibited significantly higher values of pro-inflammatory markers IL-6 [55 pg./mL vs. 38 pg./mL, p < 0.02] and TNF-α [159 pg./mL vs. 110 pg./mL, p < 0.02] compared to the non-event cohort, suggesting an increased risk of developing a thrombus in the former. Here, TNF is linked to deep vein thrombosis.
