E2F1 and gastric carcinoma: Notably, the available evidence is contradictory, one study reports that BZLF1 can induce E2F1 expression in primary keratinocytes and gastric carcinoma cells [25], whereas another suggests that E2F1, in conjunction with c-Myc, suppresses BZLF1-mediated transactivation via a negative regulatory element located within the N-terminal region of BZLF1 [26].
