G6PD and chlamydia trachomatis infectious disease: Prior to training commencement, recruits proceed through “receiving week,” which begins day 1 post-arrival and includes a medical portion for laboratory testing of vaccine titers, G6PD (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase) status, blood typing, gonorrhea and chlamydia testing, HIV and hepatitis screening, and universal pregnancy testing for female recruits.
