Semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1RA), has been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and for weight loss in patients with obesity [1]. GLP-1RAs, via the incretin pathway, stimulate the release of insulin as well as decrease the release of glucagon [2]. They improve glycemic control with low risk for hypoglycemia [2]. Here, GCG is linked to diabetes mellitus.
