These findings indicate that SHMT2 plays a role in LUAD tumorigenesis, confirming its potential as a biomarker for lung adenocarcinoma, as previously suggested [25–27] The crucial role of SHMT2 in carcinogenesis was also shown for other cancer types, as well as its involvement in clinical cancer drug resistance [28–31]. This evidence concerns the gene SHMT2 and lung adenocarcinoma.
