Previous studies had shown sexual dimorphism in flow-mediated dilation in vivo,44 and more recently in male versus female HUVEC morphology and YAP1 nuclear translocation with shear.45 Our findings are in line with clinical observations of sex differences in PAH,46,47 and highlight the need to consider sex differences during research into PAH with the goal of eventually developing sex-specific treatment strategies. Here, YAP1 is linked to pulmonary arterial hypertension.
