The results of a phase II clinical study comparing the ATR inhibitor berzosertib in combination with gemcitabine versus gemcitabine alone for the treatment of platinum-resistant high-grade serous ovarian cancer showed that the combination therapy group significantly prolonged progression-free survival (PFS) (22.9 weeks vs 14.7 weeks, p = 0.044) (60). The gene discussed is ATR; the disease is ovarian serous adenocarcinoma.
