AGTR1 and hypertensive disorder: The HFR and TCDD hypertension were associated with increased asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) and symmetric dimethylarginine (SDMA) ‐two compounds that reduce the body's ability to produce nitric oxide, an important compound in maintaining a healthy endothelium (Fleck et al. 2003)‐ and a decreased l‐arginine‐to‐ADMA ratio, as well as an increased angiotensin 1 receptor (AT1R) and decreased angiotensin type 2 receptor (AT2R), which DMB prevented.
