Along with TC and LDL-C, higher Triglycerides (TG)/High Density Lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) ratio, lower levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) and apolipoprotein A-I (ApoA-I) were associated with an increased risk of new-onset AFib (HR ranging from 1.13; 95% CI: 1.07 to 1.19, p < 0.001 to 1.53; 95% CI: 1.12 to 2.00, p = 0.007) [47]. This evidence concerns the gene APOA1 and atrial fibrillation.
