Risk factors for mortality included continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) [hazard ratio (HR) = 2.63, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.76–3.93; P < .001], older age (HR = 2.96, 95% CI 1.98–4.43; P < .001), cardiovascular disease (HR = 1.96, 95% CI 1.31–2.95; P = .001) and the use of renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system inhibitors (RAASi) (HR = 1.81, 95% CI 1.22–2.70; P = .004).
