MTOR and cancer: Figure 1D shows the chromosome location and mutation frequency of 37 PMRGs. PMRG mutations were detected in 60 of the 870 samples (mutation rate 6.9%; Figure 1E). MTOR had the highest mutation frequency, while mutation frequencies for other PMRGs ranged between 0 and 1% (Figure 1E). Activating somatic MTOR mutations have been identified recently in human cancers (29). The top 20 PMRG mutations more frequently occurred in GBM than in LGG (Figure 1E). Additionally, PMRG mutation co-occurrence was more frequently observed in gliomas (Figure 1F).
