A causal relationship between 91 inflammatory proteins and IBD from a two‐sample MR study suggests that 18 inflammatory proteins, including FGF21, CD40, C‐X‐C motif chemokine ligand 5 (CXCL5), IL18, IL17C, and signaling lymphocytic activation molecule family member 1 (SLAMF1), are potentially causally associated with IBD. Here, CXCL5 is linked to inflammatory bowel disease.
