The findings presented by the Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine Department of Pediatric Metabolism and Nutrition in the differential diagnosis of GSDs are as follows: In the presence of severe hypoglycemia, GSD types Ia and Ib should be considered; if elevated AST levels are not accompanied by elevated ALT levels, GSD types 0, IXb, and Ib should be considered; and if AST/ALT levels are very high, GSD types III and IXc should be considered. This evidence concerns the gene GPT and disorder of glycogen metabolism.
