In our study, we found that plasma FABP4 levels in breast cancer-related lymphedema patients remained elevated in individuals who no longer had active cancer, similar to the high circulating FABP4 levels reported in studies evaluating breast cancer patients before initiating cancer treatments (Guaita-Esteruelas et al, 2017; Tsakogiannis et al, 2021). The gene discussed is FABP4; the disease is cancer.
