BCL2L11 and cardiomyopathy: Our approach of screening for drug-like compounds that would selectively inhibit the pro-apoptotic protein Bim was built on our previous work, which demonstrated that Bim-deficient mice were resistant to catecholamine-induced cardiomyopathy (Lee et al, 2013), despite the onset of physiological hypertrophy and increased β-AR expression in the heart (Glab et al, 2017).
