Similarly, this study confirmed that METTL5 enhances the m6A modification of 18S rRNA A1832, accelerates the 40S ribosome’s scanning of the 5′TOP motif of SEPHS2, increases its translation efficiency, and upregulates the protein levels of SEPHS2 in MM cells rather than the mRNA level. This evidence concerns the gene METTL5 and Miyoshi myopathy.
