The highest tertile abundance of Bacteroides in swabs was related to an increased risk of metachronous serrated polyps with an odds ratio of 11.04 (95% CI: 1.18, 103.63; P-trend = 0.02; P-interaction with the TRPM7 genotype = 0.71), whereas the abundance of Prevotella and Bacteroides in stool samples was not significantly associated with risk of adenomas and/or serrated polyps. Here, TRPM7 is linked to adenoma.
