FOS and myopia: Atropine, with wide clinical usage, slowed myopia progression by reducing the levels of c-Fos, nuclear factor κB (NFκB), interleukin (IL)-6, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, all of which mediate chronic inflammation.5 The impact of inflammatory responses and myopia progression were further substantiated by confirming that allergy-induced inflammation6 and air pollutants (particulate matter 2.5)7 induced inflammation that exacerbated myopia.
