LGALS3 and Stroke: Based on an analysis of the study population, the high galectin-3 level showed a significant association with the composite of all-cause mortality, non-fatal MI, and stroke during long-term follow-up (unadjusted HR 2.570, 95% CI 1.640–4.027, p < 0.001), and the multivariate analysis, which included many variables listed in the statistical method, showed that the high galectin-3 level was associated with all-cause mortality, non-fatal MI, and stroke (adjusted HR 1.670, 95% CI 1.037–2.751, p = 0.044) (Table 3).
