Interestingly, we also saw consistent tumor cell killing of PDAC organoids ex vivo (Figure 5) despite very low levels of MICA on the organoid surface (Figure S5A); however, detectable levels of soluble MICA in organoid supernatants were present (Figure S5C), suggesting MICA is being cleaved from the tumor surface as previously reported in pancreatic cancer,23 which did not appear to impact the BICA functionality.
