Hence, in the present investigation, we evaluated the risk of atherosclerosis in the normoglycemic normotolerant offspring of diabetic patients (norm‐offspring) by measuring oxidative DNA damage marker (8‐OHdG) and early preclinical atherosclerosis serum markers, including Ox‐LDL and intercellular adhesion molecules (ICAM‐1 and E‐selectin) and comparing them with data of prediabetic and control groups. The gene discussed is ICAM1; the disease is atherosclerosis.
