On one hand, NSC‐derived EVs carrying Y‐box binding protein 1 (YBX1, a member of the family of DNA‐ and RNA‐binding proteins) alleviate ischemic stroke by inhibiting the process of cell pyroptosis (i.e., an inflammatory type of regulated cell death, which occurs downstream of inflammasome activation) (McKenzie et al. 2020). Here, YBX1 is linked to ischemic stroke.
