S100B and carcinoma: The analysis of three ROIs, each from the tumor and surrounding benign breast epithelium, revealed a significant decrease in S100 calcium-binding protein B (S100B) (log2FC = −4.6, p = 0.01), smooth muscle actin (SMA) (log2FC = −2.1, p = 0.001), and p-S6 (log2FC = −2.2, p = 0.03) levels in the carcinoma compared to the benign epithelial component.
