Simmler P et al. showed that the splicing factor SF3B1 is also frequently mutated in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), and SF3B1K700E functions as an oncogenic driver in PDAC, promoting the advancement of early-stage tumors by hindering the cellular response to the tumor-suppressive effects of TGF-β [30]. The gene discussed is TGFB1; the disease is pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.
