The concentrations of ADAM15, as well as the classical tumor markers and CRP, were the highest in the advanced stage of CRC and in patients with the presence of lymph node metastasis (N1 subgroup) than in subjects without nodal involvement (N0 subjects) and an early stage of CRC; however, statistically significant differences were only found for the CEA and CRP levels. The gene discussed is ADAM15; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
