LASP1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus: These findings fit well with previous studies reporting a down-regulation of circulating miR-1-3p and miR-133a-3p and an up-regulation of miR-372-3p levels in T2D [34,35]; moreover, miR-133a-3p targets LIM and SH3 protein1 (LASP1), a cytoskeletal protein with a scaffolding function that interacts with AKT promoting the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway [36].
