Additionally, studies in a mouse MS model infected with Theiler’s murine encephalomyelitis virus (TMEV) demonstrated that cannabinoids such as WIN 55,212-2, ACEA, and JWH-015 stimulated remyelination while reducing spinal cord infiltration of CD4+ T cells [152,156], and administering the cannabinoid agonist WIN 55,212-2 after viral infection inhibited the expression of adhesion molecules such as intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1).
