Receiver Operating Characteristic analysis demonstrated that RIPK-1 (AUC = 0.81, 95% CI: 0.69–0.93, p < 0.001), IL-18 (AUC = 0.71, 95% CI: 0.57–0.85, p < 0.01), and A20 (AUC = 0.71, 95% CI: 0.56–0.85, p = 0.012) were effective predictors of sepsis or septic shock diagnosis within the first 24 h of ICU admission (Figure 4). This evidence concerns the gene RIPK1 and septic shock.
