Patients were comparable regarding the left ventricular ejection fraction (p = 0.32), NT-proBNP serum levels (p = 0.19) and comorbidities such as arterial hypertension (p = 0.38), coronary heart disease (p = 0.36), type 2 diabetes (p = 0.22) and kidney function (estimated glomerular filtration rate p = 0.11; creatinine levels p = 0.32) prior to LVAD implantation (Table 1).
