GPX4 and diabetic kidney disease: Because of the strong therapeutic effect of SGLT2i on DKD, we treated HK-2 cells with the SGLT2i dapagliflozin (DAPA, 2 μM) under NG and HG conditions (Figure 5(A)) and found that dapagliflozin reversed HG-promoted ferroptosis triggers, including cellular iron accumulation, MDA production and ROS generation, MMP loss, and GPX4 downregulation in HK-2 cells (Figure 5(B–F)).
