In the gliosis model, genes, such as SERPING1, AMIGO2, PSMB28, SRGN, GBP2, and LCN2, were upregulated, all of which have been previously reported in reactive A1 astrocytes by Zamanian et al. (2012), Liddelow et al. (2017), and Hasel et al. (2021), and although that classification has been challenged (Escartin et al. 2021), these markers of inflammation are still commonly used to characterize gliotic astrocytes. This evidence concerns the gene LCN2 and Gliosis.
