CRTC2 and nutritional disorder: The results showed that deletion of genes (cch1 and yam8) encoding Ca2+ channel proteins absolutely required for calcineurin activation upon exposure to various stimuli (75), reversed the inhibition of mitochondrial degradation upon iron deficiency caused by deletion of gad8, suggesting that Ca2+ signaling functions downstream of TORC2-Gad8 signaling in regulating DIP-induced mitochondrial degradation (Fig. 6C).
