We analyzed expression of this unbiased list of hypoxia-related genes in the Low and High PER1 expression cohorts in the TCGA LUAD and CPTAC-GDC datasets and the Low and High PER1 expression cohorts in the 2020 CPTAC dataset and found that expression of SLC2A1, which encodes GLUT1 and is important for glycolysis, and ANLN, which is necessary for cytokinesis and overexpressed in lung adenocarcinoma (Xu et al. 2019), were the most consistently altered hypoxia-related genes in these datasets, with lower expression in the High PER1/PER1 groups (Fig. 4F–G). This evidence concerns the gene SLC2A1 and lung adenocarcinoma.
