In this regard, Li et al. (2025) added further evidence by showing that resveratrol, particularly in combination with aerobic exercise, significantly decreased hepatic levels of Activin A and TGF‐β, two cytokines implicated in both fibrosis and apoptosis, thus contributing to improved liver histology and function in NAFLD rats. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
