Proteomic profiling of gastric cancer with peritoneal metastasis revealed proteins (DUOXA2, ITGA7, LIMS1, MSRB3, PLCB1, RAB6B, SEMA3C, SMTN, TADA1, and TBC1D14) protein signature linked to the immune microenvironment and patient outcome, which were enriched in exosomes and cell adhesion pathways and may play an important role in the diagnosis of gastric cancer peritoneal metastasis (Chen et al., 2023). This evidence concerns the gene SMTN and gastric cancer.
