A network meta-analysis comprising 23 randomized controlled trials (n = 5,151 T1DM patients) with an average study duration of 30.8 ± 14.5 weeks—including participants with overweight and obesity—revealed that the insulin + exenatide group experienced a significant reduction in body weight of 5.1 kg compared to the insulin-only group. Here, INS is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
