Importantly, we observed no significant differences in pyrimidine metabolism between patients with NF2 deficiencies who had KRAS mutations and those with wild-type KRAS. This aligns with our finding that KRAS knockdown does not affect the NF2-driven increase in CAD and DHODH expression, suggesting the alterations in pyrimidine metabolism associated with NF2 deficiency occur independently of KRAS signaling in mesothelioma (Appendix Fig. S6). This evidence concerns the gene CAD and mesothelioma.
